Recently bloggers and stylists have been marching the streets in strong, structured military-inspired coats. These statements in outerwear provide a sort of fashion armor; you can take on the big world in a determined jacket with regal flair such as brass buttons and charismatic collars. This is what’s taking over 2018 autumn street styles, retail chains and magazine spreads, all courtesy of designers like Prabal Gurung, Michael Kors, Christopher Kane or Rebecca Minkoff‘s collections we fell so head over heels with at Fashion Week.

Scroll down to see some ideas on how to style the military coat this season!

1.Pair it with black turtleneck, a pair of skinny blue jeans, ankle boots and a leather fiddler hat. Accessorise with some cool aviator sunglasses and a handbag that matches the colour of your coat.

2. Try wearing a simple mini skirt under your military coat with a classic red turtleneck. Pair the look with statement high-heeled booties and finish off the look with oversized sunglasses, a cool hat and statement earrings.

3. Pair your icy blue military coat with a crispy white turtleneck and light blue jeans. Accessorise the look with darker blue pumps and crossbody bag. Don’t forget your gloves, as temperatures are going down, you need to take care of your hands and do so in style. White leather gloves are the perfect finishing touch to this look!

4. Black on Black! One of my absolutely favourite combos are black and gold! Pair a floor length black military coat with black turtleneck and leather pencil skirt. Finish off the look with killer snake skin gold pumps and minimal but statement-making jewelry!
