A new report claims that the relationship between Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex and her father in-law cannot get any better. A member of the royal family shared with Vanity Fair that Meghan and Charles have formed a very close friendship.
Charles, as you may remember, walked Markle down the aisle when her own father couldn’t attend the ceremony due to health issues. Harry “will be eternally grateful to his papa for stepping in,” the source added. “The bond between them is very close.” He “showed so much love towards” them.
Prince Charles “has been very supportive of Meghan and everything she is going through with her own father,” the insider told Vanity Fair. “He’s got a real soft spot for her and thinks she’s the best thing to have happened to Harry.”

Charles also gave a very touching speech at the wedding reception. According to People magazine, the Prince of Wales addressed everyone and told them how proud he was of the man his son had “grown into.” Charles also apparently noted how delighted he was to walk Meghan down the aisle. He reportedly ended his speech saying: “My darling old Harry, I’m so happy for you.”
Earlier this year, for example, Prince Harry called his father an “inspiration.”
“It is your selfless drive to affect change, whether that is to improve the lives of those who are on the wrong path, to save an important piece of our national heritage or to protect a particular species under threat, which William and I draw inspiration from every day,” Harry said.
