Kate Middleton and Prince William are on a Royal visit at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus to meet the servicemen and their families living at the base. During their visit, they spread holiday cheer to military families who will be away from home this Christmas and officially opened the Oasis recreation center. Kate spoke to the invited wives, partners, grandparents and children: “Not only are we grateful for you coming here to join our party, but also for the sacrifices you make on a daily basis on behalf of the nation.”
William teased the men to “keep the pizza off the sofas!” after spotting the bright yellow couches. Then Kate playfully said back, “You’re a nightmare with that!”
During the usual royal walkabout, Kate met and spoke to some of the fans gathered to greet them. She specifically bonded with a mother of a 10-month baby.
“She asked whether [the baby] was sleeping through the night and she told me that Louis is starting to wave,” Rhian Davis, 32, told reporters. Kate shared that she was trying to show Prince George and Princess Charlotte the Christmas decorations from yesterday’s party at Kensington Palace after they arrived home from school, but it was all gone by the time they got there. “They were so disappointed!” the Duchess said.
George was very excited for his parents trip to Cryptus. Prince William told a group of pilots, “I told George this morning we were going to see the pilots today, and he said, ‘If you see a helicopter can you take a picture?’”
