The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrive Leicester City today to pay respect to the city after a tragic helicopter crash there last month. The couple carried two engagements – one at the city’s stadium, one at its university.
They were greeted by Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s widow, his son and Vice Chairman of the club.
The Palace wrote of why Kate and William planned their visit: “Their Royal Highnesses knew the Club’s Chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, and wanted to visit the city to recognize the warmth and compassion that the people of Leicester and fans of Leicester City Football Club have shown in reaction to the accident.”
For the occasion, Kate wore a grey Catherine Walker coat dress. William was alongside her in a suit.
