Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped out for a visit in Birkenhead earlier today, which marks their first appearance together for the year. The future parents arrived hand-in-hand, with Meghan ditching her usually dark outfit for two bold color choices.
She wore a bright red coat by Sentaler and a Babaton by Aritizia purple dress with red Stuart Weitzman Nouveau Suede Pumps, while Harry was alongside her in a suit. The mom-to-be carried a bag by Gabriela Hearst and had her hair pulled back into her signature low bun.
When we saw Meghan stepping out the car in that look, we couldn’t help but remember her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana and all the times she dressed in that same color combo. She famously wore a cropped red jacket with a purple pencil skirt while her visit to Taj Mahal in India all those years ago.
She wore another number with the same color block. The purple and red ball gown was by Catherine Walker. It features fuchsia pink chiffon with purple sash shoulder strap and trailing stole. Diana wore this gown for an official visit to Thailand in 1988.
