Right before the end of her summer break and before she returned to her usual royal duties, Meghan Markle took some time and flew to Toronto to visit her very close friend and former stylist Jessica Mulroney. Reports say that ever since the iconic wedding in May 19, the new Duchess has kept on speed dial very few super close friends.
“Meghan has lost touch with some of her close friends from before the wedding, which has been tough,” a source told People Magazine. “She’s finding it hard to know who to trust.”
The magazine also talks about the past few months and what a challenge they have been for Markle. It hints that she is seriously struggling to deal the family drama that has plagued her even since she first announced her engagement to Harry.
The Duchess also had an emergency trip to her home city – Los Angeles, where she spent some time with her mother and simply get away from all the craziness for a bit. Apart from all the public attention on EVERY single move she does, she’s been dealing with huge amount of stress as her father, Thomas Markle, and siblings, Samantha Markle and Thomas Markle constantly attack her and the Royal family. “It was very wearing on her. It’s her private life,” adds the source.
Another source told Life&Style magazine that: “Apart from Harry, Doria is the only person Meghan feels she can trust,” says an insider. “She’s holding a crisis meeting with her mom, who has some insight into her ex-husband’s behavior and is hoping to help Meghan figure out how to handle him.”
“She’s really struggling to come to terms with the fact that the man she once adored and looked up to has stabbed her in the back,” the insider says, adding that Meghan’s husband, 33, supports the trip. “Harry and Doria have spoken on the phone about their concerns for Meghan’s well-being. Harry agrees that Meghan needs some quality time with her mom.”
“She’ll also catch up with old friends during her trip to California,” the insider says. “She feels so alone in London and can’t wait to be around those who’ve known her for years, in a place where she can really be herself again.”
