Tonight Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended Women’s Empowerment Forum at the Royal Aeronautical Society, as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting hosted by U.K Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson.
At the Royal Foundation Forum back in February, Markle said, “I hear a lot of people speaking about girls’ empowerment and women’s empowerment — you will hear people saying they are helping women find their voices.” I fundamentally disagree with that because women don’t need to find their voices, they need to be empowered to use it and people need to be urged to listen,” she continued.
Markle wore a sleek black dress paired with ankle-strapped pumps, and had her hair up with minimum makeup.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “Meghan is indeed planning to take her activism around the Commonwealth with Harry as part of the Royal Foundation after the wedding. The fact she is biracial will have enormous appeal to many in the Commonwealth who have previously viewed the Royal Family as remote. The royals are used for ‘soft power’ very effectively in visits abroad, this would certainly apply to the Commonwealth as it does to Europe, to promote goodwill during and (assuming it happens) after Brexit.”
