Federal spending records report that during her most recent stay in Africa, the First Lady of USA, has spent the whopping $95,050 and according to sources she didn’t even spend the night!!!
Melania’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, told Quartz that Mrs. Trump was only in Cairo for six hours. Grisham did not dispute the figure, but said that her team is looking into where the number came from.
The US first lady and her entourage racked up the tab at the Semiramis Intercontinental Cairo, which offers rooms starting at $119. The hotel’s presidential suite can be rented for $699, which includes $156.50 in taxes, per the property’s website. So far no hints have been giving as to what charges led to the gigantic bill.
“For United States government patronage, our hotels charge room rates only at cost and we do not profit from these stays,” the Trump Organization’s executive vice president and chief compliance counsel, George A. Sorial, said in the statement.
During a sit-down, taped during the tour the First Lady talked about how she deals with criticism. “I could say that I’m the most bullied person in the world. One of them — if you really see what people are saying about me.”
“That’s why ‘Be Best’ is focusing on online behavior and social media,” Mrs. Trump continued. “We need to educate the children [about] social, emotional behavior.”
“I wish people would focus on what I do, not what I wear,” she told reporters during a stop in Giza, Egypt.
Melania isn’t the first to spend ridiculous amount of money on hotel rooms. The Scotsman reports that Donald Trump’s July stay at his own golf resort in Scotland, led to the smashing $68,800 bill!
