Prince Charles, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday, is a grandfather of three children and one baby on the way this Spring. He said that he would anything to make his grandchildren smile.
In the BBC documentary, ‘Prince, Son, and Heir: Charles at 70,’ Charles’ wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, said: “My grandchildren adore him. [Charles] will crawl about with them for hours, making funny noises and laughing.” Although he absolutely adores all of his grandchildren, he finds it a bit hard at times to keep up with the oldest ones – Prince George,5, and Princess Charlette,3.
“My grandchildren wear me out. I don’t know how you do it,” the Daily Express reported that Charles recently told Amelia Kerr, 33, a new mother to a four-week-old son named Oliver, at a recent royal event.
In the same documentary, Prince William expressed his wish that his father would spend more time with his grandchildren. “I would like him to have more time with the children,” William, 36, said. “Having more time with him at home would be lovely, and being able to, you know, play around with the grandchildren. When he’s there, he’s brilliant, but we need him there as much as possible.”
Prince Harry confirmed that revealing that when they were younger, Charles would eat dinner “ridiculously late at night, and then goes to his desk later that night and will fall asleep on his notes” because he was so consumed with his work.
