The happy bride shared with People magazine: “Every girl dreams of being a princess on her wedding day. But I never had a plan about what I wanted it to be.” She added that the two ceremonies in India to celebrate their different backgrounds really meant a lot. “It melted my heart, being able to have two big weddings, in India, with our closest family and friends was unbelievably special.”

People magazine reported that the newlyweds hosted their 225 friends and family members, including Jonas’s brothers Kevin, Joe, and their better halves, along with Frankie and Chopra’s brother Siddharth at an elegant sit-down dinner reception with a live band. All three of Jonas’ brothers gave speeches as well as Chopra’s mother, Madhu, and brother. Sadly her father had passed in 2013 of cancer.

The couple cut their seven-tiered wedding cake after some champagne was served.

Priyanka wore a custom-made hand-beaded and embroidered Ralph Lauren gown with a 75-foot long trail during the Christian wedding, while Nick opted for a black suit by the same desinger. Inside of the purple lapel of the tuxedo, Ralph Lauren added a small piece of lace from the bride’s dress embroidered with the Urdu words “My Jaan” which translates to “My Life”.

The making of Priyanka’s exquisite gown took a total of 1,826 hours to complete, according to the brand. The dress is hand-beaded and hand-embroidered and it features floral and scroll motifs, lace-effect tulle appliqués, scalloped sleeves, and a high-neck collar. Simply perfection! Underneath her long-sleeve gown, Chopra wore a strapless column dress made up of 2,380,000 mother of pearl sequins. She finished off her look with long tulle veil that reached 75 feet and custom Jimmy Choo shoes.

“I love that our wedding was a religious mash-up,” says the actress. “We took beautiful traditions that we both grew up with and personalized them in a way that made sense for us. It’s been incredible to find the commonalities between our beliefs and figuring out how to blend them in a respectful and meaningful way.”
