It’s been more than three weeks now since Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding in India and yet there are still new photos emerging from their celebrations. They got married on December 1 and 2 in two separate ceremonies at Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan Palace.
First, on December 1 they had a Christian ceremony, officiated by Nick’s father, and on the next day, they got married again in accordance with Hindu wedding rituals.
This week new photos from their Indian wedding have surfaced and they are so gorgeous! Priyanka, 36, wore a red sari, while Jonas, 26, was dressed in a traditional outfit and turban. The bride looked stunning in a Sabyasachi ensemble. Scroll down to see her look in more details!
Priyanka admitted to People magazine: “I could not hold it in. I think I was nervous and scared. But as soon as the curtains opened, and I saw his face it was just like everything settled and I knew I was making the best decision of my life. It was all tears. All tears.”
In an exclusive interview with People magazine, the happy bride shared: “Every girl dreams of being a princess on her wedding day. But I never had a plan about what I wanted it to be.” She added that the two ceremonies in India to celebrate their different backgrounds really meant a lot. “It melted my heart, being able to have two big weddings, in India, with our closest family and friends was unbelievably special.”
“I love that our wedding was a religious mash-up. We took beautiful traditions that we both grew up with and personalized them in a way that made sense for us. It’s been incredible to find the commonalities between our beliefs and figuring out how to blend them in a respectful and meaningful way.”
